This family in Bloomsbury's addition included adding a family room, workshop and an entryway that would tie together the existing house and garage. The highlights of the 578 square foot family room are five 8"x 8" white oak timber frame trusses, designed by Amish Timber Framers of Doylestown Ohio for the family room. The trusses complement the red oak flooring which is warmed by a radiant heat system. During the addition the kitchen was renovated to include new cabinets and a new tile floor.

The first floor of this charming addition includes a garage, wine cellar, and laundry room. The floor above features a large master bathroom and home office. The master bath incorporates several distinct styles, using a neoclassical color palette, highly ornamental Victorian furniture and contemporary textures like the smooth river rock inlaid on the shower's floor.

The addition to this kitchen was only a modest bump-out, but it created the essential space required by an island-based layout. The bi-level island anchors the kitchen with areas for both food preparation and casual dining and contains one of the kitchen's three sinks. A larger sink is located below the window in close proximity to the dishwasher, and a third services the wet bar. The island's Black Galaxy granite and the surrounding Shivakashi granite countertops reflect the natural light that flows through the arched transom windows above the sink. A new sliding door leads directly to the dining area on the new deck, creating smooth traffic flow from the kitchen to the outdoor dining table.

The addition to this customer's kitchen required the removal of their existing deck. Rather than replace it with another pressure treated deck they decided that the view from their new kitchen windows should be as elegant as the contents within. The deck was constructed with Trex Artisan Railings and Trex Brasilia floorboards, which were installed above a Dek Drain water diversion system that created a sheltered patio beneath the deck. The patio below also features a lattice enclosed storage area for winter storage of patio furniture.
